Dates: Summer 2022

1) Arrival Day

Students gather at the Punto de Encuentro (Meeting point) at the Santiago (Chile) international airport, take a bus to Viña del Mar, and participate in the welcome orientation.

2) Shadowing

Preparing for shadowing rotations at private clinics and public hospitals in Chile.

3) Surf

(Optional) weekend activity. Kanki Surf School in Concon, Chile.

4) En las Noticias

Spanish & Shadowing program featured in Chilean newspaper.

5) Ruka Mapuche

Visit to a Ruka Mapuche to learn about native Chilean medicine, a mixture of rituals, herbs, and thermal waters.

6) Un día en la nieve

A weekend day trip to the Andes mountains

7) Next Stop: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Group travel form Chile to Argentina...

8) Facultad de Medicina

Site of Spanish immersion classes and medical shadowing in Buenos Aires.

9) Volunteer Days

Two optional volunteer outings: a children´s home and a senior assisted living center.

A visit to Concon, a few towns north of Spanish & Shadowing's location in Viña del Mar.

12) Exploring Valparaiso

Valparaiso, UNESCO Heritage site, neighbors Viña del Mar and is best known for its harbor and artistic neighborhoods.

13) Buenos Aires Culture

Buenos Aires, often called the "Paris of Latin America," is the second stop on the multi-location Spanish & Shadowing program.

14) Peruvian Pizza Workshop

Activity: Making Peruvian-style pizza in Cusco.

15) Exploring Cusco

Welcome to Cusco, gateway to Machu Picchu and capital of the ancient Incan empire.
